As I started nearing age 30, I began asking myself questions as to what it was that frustrated me about this world. I came up with a list of some of the things that hum in the background of my mind at times. Things that make me want to help build something different.

  • The world is largely run by people who have more money, resources, and connections.
  • As much as I would like to think that life rewards hard work and dedication; it often does not.
  • Life is not fair.
  • Everyone has some form of privilege, and many people do not want to admit it.
  • Life choices will catch up with you.
  • You can’t just run away from your problems and constantly recreate a new life for yourself.
  • Options can run out.
  • Unless you are able to find ways to generate income yourself, you will continue to rely on other people to ensure you have a roof over your head and food on the table.
  • Having a roof over your head is a privilege, and not a right.
  • Most people will not be as invested in building connection with you as you are with them.
  • People often associate worth with how much money they make and what they do for work.
  • Marriage and kids are not glamorous life decisions.
  • People, and even ChatGPT, do believe that some people are burdens.
  • Society seems to be getting further fragmented and we are becoming more isolated.
  • Wages do not keep up with the cost of living.
  • When given the opportunity, most people do want to be in a position where they feel they hold a high status in society.
  • Friendships fall apart, and people drift away, often without clear closure.
  • Not everyone is living with the wellbeing of others in mind.
  • Most people will judge what they do not understand or have never experienced themselves.
  • There is no rule book.
